Both the British PSA and the ATT PSA show the â€Å"life changing† and â€Å"life ending† results that can happen when an individual decides to message while driving. The ATT PSA shows three separate storylines of individuals who have been influenced by injury as well as death in view of messaging while at the same time driving. The first storyline is about a high school young lady who passed on a year sooner when she was messaging while at the same time driving. The story has a police officer depicting the mishap scene and the victim’s loved ones portraying their misfortune. The second storyline is about a young kid who killed a man on a bike when he was messaging while at the same time driving. The third storyline shows an intellectually and truly crippled youngster who got handicapped from a fender bender in which he was messaging while at the same time driving. These 3 storylines bring out solid emotions in the crowd of sympathy for the friends and family, misery for the harmed, and worry that something like this could transpire or your friends and family. Be that as it may, this video doesn't show any subtleties of the genuine mishap, thusly making it hard for the watcher to envision this all originated from only a straightforward instant message. Conversely, The â€Å"British PSA† cut uses an emotional methodology by indicating the subtleties of a full-fledge interstate multi-fender bender. The clasp shows the alarming impacts of a lethal head-on crash in moderate movement. Following the head-on crash, the vehicle with the 3 adolescent young ladies gets wide sided (T-boned) by a third vehicle going at a high pace. It gives a ridiculous and realistic case of the overwhelming impacts that messaging while at the same time driving can bring and endeavors to advance remaining off mobile phones while working a vehicle by portraying an occasion that the crowd could never need to live through. Rather than simply demonstrating the result or the drawn out impacts of the mishap, The â€Å"British PSA† utilizes a way to deal with stun the crowd and actually alarm them from ever needing to message while driving by indicating the injury and demise of a few people included. The â€Å"British PSA† is more viable than the â€Å"ATT PSA† in light of the fact that it permits the crowd to observe the awful subtleties of a fender bender rather than simply catching wind of the fallout a while later. The French Revolution of 1789 prompted the turn of events and addition of new political powers, for example, popular government and patriotism which was enlivened by the Enlightenment of the mid-eighteenth century. It doubted the authority of the King, clerics, nobles and religion on an entire; to be specific Catholicism. The upset shined a different light on the political thoughts of the individuals. France’s contribution in the American Revolution had left the nation in a monstrous monetary crisis.Debt, swelling an absence of nourishment and King Louis XVI extravagant spending and overwhelming tax collection on the Commons of society served to outrage the individuals thus they requested another arrangement of government. The Old Regime and Social Stratification in France Under the arrangement of the Old Regime the King was found in the public arena similar to the total ruler whose standard was appointed my God. The King had incorporated force in the Royal Bureaucracy. As one the King and the administration safeguarded illustrious power and kept up an arrangement of social separation specified by the Old Regime. The society in France was legitimately delineated by birth, isolated into three Estates. The First Estate comprising of the pastorate, the Second Estate; the honorability and the Third Estate the Commons which comprised of the bourgeoisie, city laborers and workers. The First Estate, the ministry which was additionally comprised of individuals from the honorability appreciated different benefits which were inaccessible to those beneath their station in the public arena. They settled no expenses and to help exercises of the congregation gathered tithes or assessments on salary. The Second Estate, the respectability scarcely paid assessments in spite of their incredible wealth.Their wellspring of pay originated from rents and contribution gathered from the utilization of their ranches and bequests. The Third Estate disliked the benefits delighted i n by the ministry and honorability. They had to settle charges, tithes to the congregation and lease and levy to proprietors for the land they involved. This served to cause a resentful in the general public as it kept the center from going into upward social versatility which was essentially founded on the request wherein one was conceived. Because of these events the Commons needed to have some type of correspondence in the French society. In this manner they were in steady arrangement with the Crown for better and more privileges. The Estates-General (1789) because of King Louis XVI had to assemble a conference on Estates-General on May 5, 1789 at Versailles. This was where delegates from every social Estate could be spoken to and their complaints voiced. Social pressure tormenting the Old Regime was the focal complaint of those speaking to the Third Estate. Since the First and Second Estates were principally comprised of residents of the honorability they were permitted to supers ede the Third Estates as they contained two out of the three votes accessible. Therefore the Third Estate was left voiceless. The Third Estate offered a dream that benefit in the public arena was to be dictated by convenience as opposed to birth. Scholars of the Enlightenment; Voltaire, Montesquies and Rousseau served to be a urging element to those looking for equity in the public arena as they saw these benefits appreciated by the respectability as being established in custom. Accordingly the Third Estate welcomed different homes to join another council. They in the end renamed themselves the National Assembly which depended on the individuals instead of Estates. By doing this they uncovered their expectation of turning into the authority authoritative assemblage of France. In the mid year of 1789the National Constituent Assembly proclaimed itself the full authority of the country. Promoters of this development fretted about ‘reason’ and ‘liberty’.The Enlightenment made individuals consider the view that information must be gained through cautious investigation and ones thinking capacities. With the goal for this to be accomplished strict philosophy and customary convictions must be spurned. Along these lines they empowered the idea of freedom which they characterized as being opportunity from religion, press and absurd government. These thoughts roused the Commons in France as well as the government officials and Heads of State. This was what in the long run propelled French progressives to develop a presentation that would serve to shape a general public dependent on reason as opposed to tradition. The Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen (1789) This Declaration demanded the opportunity and correspondence of man and brought forth the progressive group of three; ‘Liberty, Equality and Fraternity’ . Set up by the National Constituent Assembly; was empowered by the philosophical and political thoughts of the Enlightenment. The affirmation sets up the philosophy of Natural as opposed to strict convention and authority. The privileges of man were to be made sure about and perceived by an administration of chose delegates. This along these lines implied a consummation of benefit and feudalism; and balance in France.Clergy, nobles, judges and even customary citizens lost whatever unique standing they once had. The Mulattoes/Affranchis: These were the offspring of white grower and slaves. They were uncommon ly various inside the general public with the destiny of their opportunity resting in the hands of their white dads. It is contended by students of history David Barry Gasper and David Patrick Geggus, that the affranchise claimed 33% of the colony’s ranches, one fourth of the slaves and one fourth of the land property.Slaves: The treatment of dark slaves in St. Domingue was the most exceedingly terrible suffered by captives of the West Indies. Grower had been making monstrous benefits in the province to the burden of the slaves. They were buckled down, cruelly rebuffed and ineffectively took care of. As a result of this at regular intervals the slave populace of St. Domingue must be renewed as the province held the most noteworthy demise pace of blacks inside the area. Racial Tension and Discrimination in St. Domingue Prior to 1791 The Metropolitan Whites/Royalists viewed the Grand Blancs with self-importance and scorn notwithstanding their riches and status in society. They as well in any case, were additionally loathed by the Grand Blancs as they believed the Royalists to be inefficient and unrestrained. How to Use the PHP Is_Numeric() Function

The is_numeric() function in the  PHP programming language is used to evaluate whether a value is a number or numeric string. Numeric strings contain any number of digits, optional signs such as or -, an optional decimal, and an optional exponential. Therefore, 234.5e6 is a valid numeric string. Binary notation and hexadecimal notation are not allowed.   The  is_numeric()  function can be used within an if() statement to treat numbers in one way and non-numbers in another. It returns true or false. Examples of the Is_Numeric() Function For example: ?php if (is_numeric(887)) { echo Yes; } else { echo No; } ? Because 887 is a number, this echos Yes. However: ?php if (is_numeric(cake)) { echo Yes; } else { echo No; } ? Because cake is not a number, this echos No. Similar Functions A similar function, ctype-digit(), also checks for numeric characters, but only for digits—no optional signs, decimals, or exponents allowed. Every character in the string text must be a decimal digit for the return to be true. Otherwise, the function  returns false. Other similar functions include: is_null() – Finds whether a variable is NULLis_float() – Finds whether the type of a variable is floatis_int() – Find whether the type of a variable is integeris_string() – Find whether the type of a variable is stringis_object() – Finds whether a variable is an objectis_array() – Finds whether a variable is an arrayis_bool()  Ã¢â‚¬â€œ Finds out whether a variable is a boolean About PHP PHP is an abbreviation for Hypertext Preprocessor. It is an open-source HTML-friendly scripting language that is  used by website owners to write dynamically generated pages. The code is executed on the server and generates HTML, which is then sent to the client. PHP is a popular server-side language that can be deployed on almost every operating system and platform.

Effects Of Anorexia Nervosa Essay Example For Students

Effects Of Anorexia Nervosa Essay Anorexia nervosa is a serious problem that many people are dealing with in todays society. Though this is a serious problem, the severity of the illness can easily be lessened with quick intervention from parents, friends, and other caring individuals. People who are close to the victim can notice early warning signs and symptoms, which are characteristic of this condition. Anorexia nervosa may be a life threatening illness, but can be treated if detected early on. There are many effective treatments that are currently available for patients. These different treatments will help the patient regain a healthy, normal lifestyle. The only real answer to the question of what type of people anorexia nervosa affects is that there is no valid answer even though researchers have found that the amount of people who develop anorexia nervosa is rising drastically. Researchers have also found that many patients with anorexia nervosa typically lack self-esteem and often feel that weight loss will make them more liked or even popular. There are many different symptoms that anorexics display. The symptoms can be both physical and psychological. The physical symptoms only occur after a severe amount of starvation has occurred. The symptoms often include constipation, loss of hair on the head, growth of faint body hair, low pulse rate, and the patient is unable to tolerate cold temperatures. Anorexics also experience many different endocrine problems. The psychological problems can range from social withdrawal to distortion of body image. There is no real answer as to exactly what causes anorexia nervosa. Researchers believe that environmental, psychological, and physiological factors all play a major role in the happening of this disorder. Many scientists believe that the part of the brain called the hypothalamus has a part in the development of anorexia nervosa. Other researchers think that abnormalities in particular endocrine functions may be key to discovering what may cause anorexia nervosa. There are three different ways that patients with anorexia nervosa can be treated. These treatments consist of nutritional therapy, family counseling, and psychotherapy for the patient. The foremost concern when beginning nutritional therapy is that the patient needs to gain weight. A physician can accomplish this by adding an amount of calories to a patients daily intake of food. Family counseling basically deals with the relationship between the patient and the members of the family. Psychotherapy is very necessary to the patient because it helps the individual realize the effects and the process anorexia nervosa undergoes. If a person with anorexia has symptoms of depression, antidepressants are often necessary. I agree with every aspect that the article presented. One thing that I agree with is that there are many different symptoms that a person with anorexia nervosa will often display. One of my high school friends suffered from anorexia nervosa. I first noticed that she might be dealing with this disorder when we were sophomores. She rarely came to lunch and made excuses to why she wasnt eating. Towards the end of the year she stopped coming to lunch all together and I only saw her drink bottled water. The disease got progressively worse over the next two years. By our senior year, her hair became very thin and would often fall out. It got to the point where she would get her hair cut very short in hope that nobody would question if she had a problem. Her skin began to yellow and she developed a fine type of hair that was particularly noticeably on her face and arms. She would also display signs of being very cold at all times. It got to the point where she would wear sweatshirts when it was seventy degrees outside. I had a first hand experience with anorexia nervosa, and the symptoms that were described in the article correspond with the symptoms that my friend from high school displayed. .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3 , .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3 .postImageUrl , .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3 , .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3:hover , .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3:visited , .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3:active { border:0!important; } .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3:active , .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3 .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u34cc21b94d40cca66efd1a5627291fd3:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Titanic Differnces EssayAnother point that I agree with in the article is that a person who is dealing with this disease is a family disease that requires family therapy. The anorexic person is often a cause of severe tension within the family unit. This type of therapy helps the members of the family have a better relationship with one another. It also is a major step that will help both the patient and the family deal with this problem. It only makes sense for the family to get some sort of help along with the patient because the family will often play a major role in the onset of anorexia nervosa. I agree with this type of therapy because it will make the living situati on between the patient and the other family members more manageable. Part 3:There are many things that are found in the textbook that correspond with the article. One is that that the book stated that anorexics often have a distorted body image and often see themselves as being very fat even though they are harmfully underweight. This corresponds with the article because it also describes one of the psychological symptoms in the same manner. Another point that is discussed by both the textbook and the article that is being discussed is the initial treatment for anorexia nervosa. They both stressed that treatment should begin with weight gain. The article believes that this should be done with an increase of calories the patient has daily while the textbook considers that this should be accomplished through behavior modification. Whether weight gain is completed by an increase of calories or behavior modification, both sources agree that weight gain is very vital for the anorexic. The two sources differ on the causes of anorexia nervosa. The textbook stated that the causes of anorexia nervosa are found in the development of the individuals personality. The article stated that anorexia is a combination of three factors. The factors are environmental, psychological, and physiological. The two sources differ greatly in this specific area.
